All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast

Saturday Linden Highschool and Project Graduation held an ALL YOU CAN EAT Pancake breakfast.

This was a fundraising event to raise money for Linden’s Seniors graduation party.  The event was a part of an all-day celebration including the 7th Annual Ice Fishing Tournament and Chili Cook-off.

The community joined at the Linden Highschool cafeteria for breakfast sponsored by ELGA Credit Union.  Families from the area came out to see Guinness book of World Records Chris Cakes.  Chris holds the record for the fastest pancake maker in the world!  The record was 1,127 pancakes flipped in one hour.  Chris has his own brand of pancake mix that is now nationwide. He can cater events up to 50,000 people.  Chris Cakes has been seen on Food Network and Saturday his crew was soring pancakes across the cafeteria and onto their plates.  The menu included all you can eat pancakes, sausage, Tang, and coffee in your very own take home ELGA mug.

Pancakes where soaring high, some tongues were out for those near miss catches to the plates and others went long for their pass and enjoyed their freshly made goodness.  The smile on the kids faces as they caught their breakfast was priceless.  The cooks even had fun with it and made fish, hooks, and ELGA pancakes.

All proceeds of the breakfast went to Project Graduation who holds many events throughout the year to help raise money for their annual event.  Project graduation is an all-night, alcohol-free, drug-free graduation party that is organized for students with help from parents, school staff and business owners in the community.  This gives the seniors and their parents the piece of mind that they can have a big celebration in a safe environment.

We had a fun morning meeting new faces and eating good food.  We had the opportunity to answer questions seniors had about banking and investing, and questions parents had about the differences between banks and credit unions.  We even had a family say they will be into the Linden ELGA branch this week to open new accounts because the products ELGA has to offer supersedes that of their current financial institution.

If you missed the flying pancakes don’t worry Project Graduation and ELGA Credit Union both have plenty of other community events, you can attend.  See you there!
