1. The Types of Personal Information That We Collect

Website Visitors: Our general website does not directly collect personally identifiable information from visitors. However, we may use web analytics tools to better understand how users engage with our site and to improve overall functionality and experience. These analytics services typically use “cookies,” which are small data files stored on your device to generate information about your interaction with the site. This may include details such as your IP address, browser type, device characteristics, and pages visited. Digital Banking & Mobile App Users: Our online and mobile banking services—such as Digital Banking, Bill Pay, and third‑party features integrated within the app—may require access to certain device information in order to provide secure and efficient banking functionality. Some features, including BillPay with Contacts Import enabled or other approved third‑party tools, may request access to your device’s contact list to help autofill payee information and streamline transaction processing. We only access your contacts when necessary for the specific feature you choose to use, and we do not collect or store this information unless required to complete the functionality you have enabled. In addition, our mobile banking app may periodically collect, transmit, and use geolocation information to support fraud prevention and security features, such as detecting unusual card activity or sending location-based alerts. You may change your location permissions at any time through your device’s settings. Geolocation data is collected only if you expressly authorize it, and you may choose how this information is accessed:

  • Allow monitoring only while the app is in use
  • Allow monitoring continuously in the background
  • Disable geolocation monitoring entirely

2. Retention Period

We keep your Personal Information only as long as necessary to provide you with the Services and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the Services, making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes.

Deleting Digital Banking Data: Members are able to unenroll from digital banking without closing their membership with us. By unenrolling, you won’t have access to any account information online. You can request unenrollment and deletion of your digital banking data by emailing ELGA Credit Union at feedback@elgacu.com.
