Scholarships

Applications are now being accepted for the People Helping People $1,000 Scholarship.

The credit union movement was founded on the philosophy of “People Helping People”. In keeping with our philosophy, ELGA Credit Union’s scholarship program was established to help our members achieve their higher educational goals. We are offering five (5) $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors or those currently enrolled in an accredited higher learning program.  Please note: The student applicant must have been the primary account holder and a member in good standing on or before December 31, 2022, and must be a member on the last day of the academic year in which the award is to be given. 

The application must be postmarked or received at any ELGA Credit Union Branch or Headquarters Building (6065 Grand Pointe Blvd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439) by close of business day on Friday, April 14th, 2023.

People Helping People Scholarship:

This student will demonstrate through a typed essay (attached to application) of at least 750 words and not more than 1,500 words how they currently exemplify the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" and/or how they plan to use their higher education to exemplify the credit union philosophy of "people helping people."
