ELGA Credit Union Scholarship Program





The scholarship committee will choose a total of (5) recipients. The recipients may be high school seniors or currently enrolled in an accredited higher learning program. Not all categories will have winners and others may have more than one winner, depending on number of applicants in each category.

Five $1,000 high school and college scholarships will be awarded:

People Helping People Scholarship

This student will demonstrate through a typed essay (attach to application) of at least 750 words and not more than 1,500 words how he or she exemplifies the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”.

I Fought Back Scholarship

This student will demonstrate through a typed essay (attach to application) of at east 750 words and not more than 1,500 words how he or she had to personally overcome something in their life to get where they are now.

Courageous Camera Scholarship

This student will create a video to help other students learn how to make smart money choices.

Savvy Saver Scholarship

This student will come up with a creative savings account product name, logo and/or slogan, with a brief pitch for how this type of account would work. Materials should be submitted and attached to the scholarship application.

Innovative Idea Scholarship

This student will demonstrate through video, marketing materials, or both an innovative idea for the credit union. This idea can be for any part of the credit union (example: loans, marketing, education, web, mobile, etc.)
