Business Workflow Analyst
Role: Facilitate process automation across all areas of the organization. The proposed solutions will include process flow analysis to remove redundant or un-needed steps with the goal being to streamline and automate the workflow.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
50%: Collect all information and documentation to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed workflow solutions. Must possess the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and utilize appropriate interviewing techniques to ensure a successful and complete solution can be developed.Associate must possess the ability to break complex processes into their component parts to aid in the analysis of their applicability to a proposed solution. This may involve the creation of process workflow diagrams detailing the current process flow and the desired process outcome. Attention to detail is imperative.
Ability to understand the needs of various teams and translate requests into action plans to aid in implementation of an appropriate solution. Obtain buy-in for proposed changes and work with all available resources to implement the new process flow. Provide sufficient feedback and obtain sufficient direction to ensure a successful outcome to the proposed change. This includes acting as a change agent.
20%: Design and implement an appropriate solution utilizing any available process automation that ensures that only the steps required are completed. Where applicable, validation of the process should be built-in or readily available for audit.
15%: Become a subject matter expert (SME) for the core system and ancillary connected systems to include but not limited to, jha Enterprise Workflow, Episys, Symform PDF (PowerDocs), Synergy, SMA OpCon, Image Center, etc. Must possess or obtain an understanding of all the programs, processes and procedures in use at ELGA CU to ensure a successful scope to the proposed solution.
10%: Embrace and advocate the principles of The ELGA Way in daily job performance. Reflect ELGA’s service and core values in every interaction with members and other Associates. Foster a positive image of ELGA and present a professional demeanor at all times.
5%: Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization and with all levels of technical competency. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
Understanding of JHA Enterprise Workflow or a workflow tool.
Experience with XML, XPATH, XLST and Web Service Experience desirable.
Ability to understand Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Proficient in the use of MS suite of software.
Proficient in the use of flowcharting concepts and the ability to document process flows in MS Visio or similar software.
Must be very familiar with the Episys system, the data that is available and the methodologies needed to interact with the system.
Strong customer service skills and a willingness to assist others.
Strong time management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Previous data processing experience in a financial institution preferred.
Must be willing to develop a strong understanding of ELGA products and services.
